Windows automatically checks if your copy of Windows is original. If your copy is or appears to be pirated, Windows XP displays an original Windows validation message. The original Windows validation or the original Windows Advantage Notification appears as a message when you log in, a timer when you log in, and a notification balloon in the notification bar. Some of the reasons why this message may appear include the installation of a pirated copy of Windows XP, a change in the Windows XP license key, or a Windows error.
Open a command prompt window in \ “Start \”> \ “Run. \” Type “cmd”. Press “Enter” to open the command prompt window.
Type “CD C: \ Windows \ System32” and click “OK” to enter the System32 directory.
Open a blank document in Notepad, go to \ “Start \”> \ “All Programs \”> \ “Accessories \”> \ “Notepad. \”
Write the next three lines in the blank document. Press “Enter” after each line. Note that for Windows Home systems, the command is \ “tskill \” instead of \ “taskkill. \” “Taskkill -IM wgatray.exe” “of wgatray.exe” “of wgalogon.dll”.
Press “Ctrl” + “a” to select the three lines. Press “Ctrl” + “C” to copy the lines. Open the command prompt window and press “Ctrl” + “V” to paste and execute the lines. This will stop the original Windows XP Advantage Notification task and the related files will be deleted to prevent the notification from reappearing.
Restart your computer, go to \ “Start \”> \ “Shut down computer \”> \ “Restart \” to make sure the notification has disappeared.
